Bob Evans Farms, Inc. owns and operates nearly 600 full-service restaurants and a complete line of retail food products under the Bob Evans® and Owens® names.

Aiming to deliver a digital experience with the same attention to hospitality and service that their customers had come to expect in their brick-and-mortar restaurants, Paragon worked with Bob Evans to deliver an integrated, intuitive rebuild, while correcting brand inconsistencies across the entire online experience.
The Bob Evans team knew it was time for a full platform rebuild. Leveraging digital touch points with their customer base had been an obvious and important priority that simply could not be implemented within the current framework. Important user-centered features were missing from the online customer experience, and the system was difficult to maintain. The legacy eCommerce system required visitors to leave the main bobevans.com site to order food online, and was not able to track shopper preferences. Restaurant menu items had to be manually entered and updated in multiple places and the branding and messaging was not consistent across the entire online experience.
Paragon’s team rebuilt the web site CMS on Sitecore with the Sitecore Digital Marketing System enabled, and implemented a Sitecore E-Commerce Services (SES) inspired backend. The front end of the website was decked out with a brand-new responsive design and intuitive online ordering system which is integrated with their back end point-of-sale system. The Sitecore e-commerce system now pulls restaurant data that is specific to each restaurant location and provides real-time menu item availability and pricing to customers who order online.

The Global Site’s homepage and navigation needed to be redesigned. Additionally, Paragon’s tasks included: Geo-location of customers mapped to the corresponding menu within the entire food product line; mobile UI optimization; A/B testing; technical infrastructure, and operational readiness deliverables such as campaign management, conversion tactics, mobile app strategy and CRM data management, among others.
Paragon’s team also conducted training classes customized to the new Bob Evans website. Three classes, Sitecore System Administration, Sitecore Content Author training and Developer training, were held at the Bob Evan’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The training focused on content editing tasks, managing media files, workflows, search & SEO features, as well as Sitecore administration best practices, and helped to ensure the Bob Evan’s team gets long-term sustainable value from their new online customer experience platform.
